Ingredient Glossary

Acetic Acid (fruit derived): Contains alpha-hydroxy acids and is known as one of the simplest carboxylic acids.  It is an antiseptic, balances the scalp pH balance and closes the hair cuticle making it softer and easier to manage.

Almond Oil: Is an excellent emollient that nourishes hair and smoothes hair cuticles adding shine and luster to the hair. It promotes the growth of new hair by effectively reduce falling hair, making them healthy long, strong and thick.  It nourishes dry hair & scalp and brings on a natural shine to the hair, with anti-frizz benefits.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice & Butter: Aloe Vera enhances cellular rejuvenation and provides the building blocks for hair proteins to stimulate hair growth.  Additionally, its anti-inflammatory properties protect against damage to the scalp and hair.

Apple Juice (Raw): Has polyphenol Procyanidin B-2 a substance that promotes hair epithelial cell growth and stimulates anagen induction (hair growth phase).

Avocado Butter & Oil: Rich in E, which is important for healthy hair growth and reducing hair loss. It is also high in sterols and other essential fatty acid that helps to heal the scalp and leaves the hair with a superior moisturizing effect.

Behentrimonim Methylsulfate: An emulsifier derived from conola oil.  It imparts excellent body and spring to hair by improving wet combing, leaving hair silky smooth and tangle-free.

C-12-15 Alkyl Benzoate: created from a reaction of Benzoic Acid and C12-15 Alcohols (Coconut Oil).  A conditioner, emollient, detangler and gloss component for hair care systems.

Calendula Flower: Calendula flower has anti-inflammatory, astringent, antifungal, and antiseptic properties make it an attractive herb for treating and soothing the scalp. The flowers also contain complex polysaccharides that are beneficial to dry, coarse hair by attracting moisture to it.

Caprylic Capric Triglycerides: Are an ester and have a very light, silky oil, feel that is not at all greasy / oily feeling on the skin.  produced by the esterification of glycerol (plant sugars) with mixtures of caprylic (C:8) and capric (C:10) fatty acids from coconut or palm kernel oils.

Castor Oil: Derived from the castor bean, and seeds of the castor plant it works to coat the hair shaft and smooth the cuticle layer, sealing in moisture and leaving the hair feeling soft and silky. It is more easily absorbed by the hair, allowing for deeper penetration into the hair shaft.

Cetearyl Alcohol: An emulsifying wax produced from a mixture of fatty alcohols. Made from cetyl and stearyl alcohol derived from vegetables which together form an occlusive film to keep hair moisture.

Cetearyl Glucoside:  A compound of glucose and cetearyl alcohol. Cetearyl alcohol is from fatty alcohol that helps hair retain natural moisture and imparts a velvety feeling.

Cetyl Alcohol: A fatty alcohol produced from vegetable oils such as palm oil and coconut oil.  It is use a surfactant and emollient to add lubrication to hair.

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine: A salt derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil. Betaine occurs commonly in beets and other vegetables. It is used as an emulsifier, cleanser, thickener, foam boaster and conditioner.

Cocopolyglucoside Tartate: A mild soap and cleanser of coconut compounds with sugar, alcohol, and tartate. Tartate is available from many fruits but is mainly the by-product of
wine making.

Coconut Milk: Rich in proteins and vitamins and minerals which give hair excellent softening properties by also strengthen hair and help minimize breakage.

Coconut Water: Coconut water is a plant-filtered, naturally sterile and Ph-balanced liquid; rich in potassium and magnesium and a good source of iodine. The refreshing properties of organic coconut water, makes it ideal for use on the, scalp and hair. Coconut water is soothing and hydrating to the hair.

Chamomile Flower: Helps with dandruff, an itchy scalp, and dry hair. Chamomile is an excellent tonic for fair hair it restores shine and brings out your hair’s natural highlights.

Citric Acid: A week acid mostly derived from certain fruits used as a pH balancer and natural preservative.

Coffee Butter: A natural UV protectan, it contains many beneficial vitamins and nutrients that are beneficial in promoting healthy hair growth, leaving your hair soft and nourished.

Fenugreek: Has medicinal effect to reduce balding, hair fall, and hair thinning.  The seeds contain hormone precursors that replenish hair growth. It is a natural emollient lecithin, known to strengthen, moisturize and promotes hair growth. Additionally, fenugreek seeds are a good source of proteins that are highly important in rebuilding and strengthening the hair shaft making it effective in restoring damaged and falling hair.

Glycerol Stereate: Also known as glyceryl monostearate is a humectant emulsifier derived from vegetable fatty acids that will soften and smooth the hair.

Grape Seed Oil: A light lubricating oil full of minerals and vitamins that help strengthen the hair.

Grapefruit Seed Extract: A natural preservative that possess antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties.

Guar Gum (Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride): Guar gum is extracted from the guar bean,guar,  is a natural thickener polysaccharides composed of the sugars galactose and manose,  making the hair softer and smoother.

Hemp Seed Oil: Has high essential fatty acids that are beneficial to dry, brittle, slow-growing hair. It repairs and strengthens damaged hair shafts while providing extra body, elasticity and volume. It helps dry scalp and hair by increasing the scalp’s capacity to retain more of its natural moisture.  This translates to increases manageability, softness, gloss and shine without leaving a greasy or oily residue.

Hyaluronic Acid : Is a viscous gel solution, natural moisturizer  & lubricant produced from the biofermentation of Yeast with Glucose and Inorganic Salts.

Hydrolyzed Oat Protein: Produced from natural oat, it is a humectant, a moisturizing and conditioning agent for the hair to increase hydration.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein: Produced from natural wheat, it Repairs damaged hair through covalent bonding, conditions hair with its moisture retention and film forming properties, which will greatly improve the body, shine, and smoothness of hair.

Hydroxyethylcellulose: A gelling and thickening agent derived from cellulose. It also helps retain moisture levels on the hair.

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey: Derived from the process of extracting the moisture molecule from liquid honey. It is a good moisturiser for hair and scalp and restores hair elasticity and flexibility.

Jasmine Oil: Great for dry and itchy scalp. Add sheen, protection and shine to hair with anti-frizz benefits

Jojoba Oil: Excellent oil for dry hair and a natural hair conditioner acting similar to and having the properties of sebaceous oil (sebum), needed to moisturize the scalp and thus maintain beautiful, healthy hair thus reducing hair loss, dryness and even split ends.

Kelp Powder: Seaweed, that is rich in minerals, and other essential vitamins that helps improve hair health and stimulate growth.

Lauryl Glucoside: A mild surfactant and detergent made from coconut oil and sugar.

Lavender Leaf & Extract: Has antiseptic properties to improve scalp conditions thus help in stimulation healthy hair growth. Also has very strong anti-inflammatory properties to help combat Androgenetic Alopecia.  It provides shine, volume and lift without striping hair color.

Lemon Balm Leaf: Deep cleans and helps control dandruff with aromatherapy properties.

Lemongrass: Stimulate scalp circulation thus hair growth, add luster to hair and has potent astringent and clarifying properties for the hair.

Lemon Essential Oil: Strengthens the hair to help improve manageability.

Marshmallow Root: Both the root and the leaf of the marshmallow plant contain a substance known as mucilate, a mucusy substance, that soften and add elasticity to hair.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane): MSM is a naturally occurring form of sulfur found in many foods. MSM naturally lengthen your hair’s growth phase by working with the natural keratin and protein levels of the hair to accelerate the hair growth cycle.

Myrtle Leaf: A soothing herb that stimulates hair growth and increases manageability.

Panthenol (Vit.B5): Panthenol binds well to hair follicles, and attracts moisture from the air.  It is a moisturizing agent and lubricates the hair without feeling greasy. It smoothes roughened hair surfaces, making them shiny and easier to comb.

Passion flower: Has moisturizing properties and is aroma therapeutic.

Pectin: A polyssacharide emulsifier, to help thicken hair and boost volume.

Peppermint Essential Oil: Peppermint oil helps to stimulate blood flow to the root of your hair and so give it good nourishment and grow well. It helps in growth of dry hair. It is good for your hair if it grows slowly or if it is thinning.

Potassium Sorbate: The potassium salt of sorbic acid a naturally occurring fatty acid with antimicrobial and antifungal properties.

propanediol:  is a  naturally derived plant based, alternative emollient to Propylene Glycol, which provides moisture binding and emolience.

Red Clover: Loaded with many important nutrients such as vitamin A, B-complex, which are useful to hair health.

Rice Bran Oil: Rice Bran Oil is rich in vitamin E complex, tocopherols and tocotrienols.  It  adds body and luster to hair and is effective in absorbing ultraviolet light thus protecting the hair from sun damage

Rosehip Essential Oil:  Is an emollient that strengthens the hair shaft.

Rose Petals, Rose Water Hydrosol: Rose has a soothing scent and natural cleansing properties which softened and sooth the scalp. Rosewater is hydrating, cooling and slightly astringent; it will moisturize, soften and restore your hair natural brilliance.

Rosemary Essential Oil: Helps regulate dandruff and stimulate hair growth.

Rosemary Leaf: Is considered to be a stimulant for the roots and the scalp by stimulating hair follicles and hair growth.   Rosemary is generally believed to slow down or even permanently hold off premature hair loss and gray hair. Rosemary will also eliminate dryness and act as an excellent conditioner that leaves the hair silky and shiny. Rosemary has been shown to promote increased circulation as well as help remove dandruff and sebum accumulations on the scalp.

Sage Leaf: Contains phytosterols, reported to have a cooling action.  It is one of the best scalp natural clarifiers. It deep cleanses impurities away from the scalp and works well with other herbs to heal scalp problems such as psoriasis and helps to end dandruff symptoms. Additionally, it thickens and strengthens hair shafts.

Shea Butter: It repairs and protects hair against weather damage, heat damage, dryness and brittleness by providing moisture to dry hair and restores luster to damaged hair. It absorbs quickly and completely into the scalp.

Slippery Elm: Slippery is an emollient that contains carbohydrates with mucilage as being the major constituent which is composed of complex sugars and starches, and tannins, which are plant-based astringents.  Slippery elm gives the hair a silky smooth feel.

Sodium Cocoamphoacetate: Made from fatty acids from coconut oil, is use in the formulation of shampoos. It enhances the appearance and feel of hair by increasing hair body, suppleness and sheen, improving the texture of hair that has been damage by chemical treatments.

Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate: Very gentle detergent derived from coconut oil and glutamate amino acid. It helps cleanse, protect, and repair the hair.

Sodium Lactate: Is the sodium salt of natural Lactic Acid, produced through the fermentation of sugar. It is a superior moisturizer, increasing the moisture content of hair & skin.

Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate: A foaming agent that is derived from glucoside from coconut and corn. It is used as a natural replacement, a milder form and alternative to sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate.

Soy Lecithin: Rich in the B complex vitamins that is highly nutritive for the hair.
